Sugar Cookie Bars

This recipe is a tad different in that it combines both ingredients and directions at the same time.  So give it a glance before you start to make sure that you have everything.

These remind me a lot of sprinkle donuts. If it has sprinkles it has to be good.

Fluff:

2 sticks butter

2 cups sugar (duh… they’re sugar cookies!)

now add 1 at a time, please-

4 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

Combine:

5 c flour

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp baking soda

Add to the wet mixture.

I spread mine on a parchment lined jelly-roll pan.

The recipe suggested 13″x18″

It also said to bake at 375°F for 10-15 minutes. Mine was 17- that’s when my toothpick came out clean. Ovens are funny. They act different in every-one’s house.

Now- let the big ol’ pan cool off. Do your dishes. Now make this:

Buttery-butter-creme

In a mixer-or with a mixer combine:

1/2 c butter, softened

1/2 c shortening

4 c powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp salt

3-5 tbsp milk-*add one at a time while mixer is beating… you don’t want it too runny.

I added a few drops of yellow coloring-I like yellow. It makes me happy. You can, too.

SPRINKLE TIME!!!!
