Trail Mix

Study snack? Road trip fuel? Yogurt topping? Breakfast cereal? The options are endless.

I post this to make a point to my college cooks. You can make trail mix. You don’t have to buy it.

I’m also a little nervous that the original posters (those Nestle people) think it would take you five minutes or more to make this. Really? Five minutes? It takes five minutes to basically pour a bunch of bowls of cereal and then mix them all together?

3 cups bite-size wheat or rice squares cereal

2 cups mixed, dried berries (such as sweetened dried cranberries, cherries, blueberries)

2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

1 cup nuts of choice (such as blanched, slivered almonds, pecan halves, peanuts)

COMBINE cereal, dried berries, morsels and nuts in large, resealable plastic bag. Store in cool, dry place for up to 3 weeks. Makes about 8 cups.
