KC Rib Rub

We can’t talk about the KCBS (Kansas City BBQ Society) and not talk about KC ribs.  We took the kids to Arthur Bryant’s BBQ in Kansas City a few years ago. I will never forget the pile of shaved brisket smothered in sauce as it sat on a piece of Wonder bread. There was no way that bad boy could be picked up.   Use this rub on ribs or even  some brisket to make your own.

The recipe begins: “BBQ rubs are the key to authentic KC ribs. Use this while they are slow cooking, then add a Kansas City style BBQ sauce, and you’ll be in heaven!”

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup paprika

1 tablespoon black pepper

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon salt

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
